China Mobile and SingTel pick up suppliers for LTE trial networks

Two leading carriers in Asia, China Mobile and Singapore Telecommunication (SingTel), have kicked off roll-outs of their LTE trial networks, attracting the participation of a number of telecom equipment suppliers, according to industry sources.

China Mobile has picked up Motorola, Alcatel Lucent and Huawei Technologies as suppliers for its planned TD-LTE trial network to be built in the exhibition grounds of the Shanghai Expo 2010, the sources noted.

SingTel will conduct LTE trials in Singapore, Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines and has invited six leading equipment vendors, Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, NEC, Huawei and ZTE, to participate in the projects, the carrier has announced.
