MTS installs "Forest Watch" for the fires
The mobile operator MTS company "Remote control" (DSC), a developer of information system video monitoring of the forest, "Forest Watch", said the launch of a federal program for monitoring and early detection of forest fires using the infrastructure network in the Russian regions.

The system consists of two parts: the hardware (video equipment to be placed on tall buildings and service provider data channels) and software (a client-server application that resides on a computer monitor in the center).
Used in the project advanced technologies such as IP-video surveillance, mobile applications, geographic information systems (GIS) and "computer vision", allow one expert remote monitoring of large areas of forest and fire detection to accurately determine its position, it saves resources and increases responsiveness.
Currently, MTS and «DSC» implement pilot projects for the installation of the "Forest Watch" in some regions of Russia, including in the Central federal district, southern Russia, the Volga and the Urals. Already in place monitoring points in the Far East and the Komi Republic.
