Nokia wins patent dispute with HTC in Germany


A German court ruled in favor of the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer, thus confirming that some of the Taiwanese HTC devices violate Nokia patents on the system energy efficiency. While this is only a decision on one of the 22 claims, which are considered in Germany on the conflicts between the two manufacturers of mobile equipment. Other issues also relate to the feature in mobile phones, tablets and the software for them. Representatives Nokia expressed satisfaction with the decision of the court, stating that the Court thus confirmed the quality of the patent portfolio. Specifically, the patent describes ways to save energy in a device connected to the network. In the NTS at the same time said that the decision of the local court in Mannheim will not affect the business in the country, because it only applies to the three vehicles that are no longer available in Germany. Company representatives are going to appeal, and will continue to defend its interests by requiring the patent ineligible German and British authorities. The fact that Nokia has initiated a review of the same issue in the courts of the United Kingdom and the United States, where the trial will commence in two months.
