Nokia Lumia 925

Nokia Lumia 925 Overview
The Nokia Lumia 925 is the new svelte and shapely redesign of Nokia's flagship Lumia 920 from last season. Keeping the original and stylish unibody design that Lumia has become famous for, the 925 squeezes a massively impressive feature set into its slimmed down body. Continuing their impressive range of Windows Phone 8 handsets, the 925 is set to deliver a stunning Windows experience with all the extras that Nokia bring to the table, increasing productivity and enhancing social updates for the improved communication across your world.

The camera is where the original 920 struck home and Nokia have tweaked the formula again with the 925 to near perfection. The 8.7 megapixel PureView shooter features advanced floating lens technology to utilise 6 separate Carl Zeiss lenses and take in 5 to 10 times more light than other available smartphones. This makes for fantastic low light imagery allowing you to take the best possible pictures regardless of your surroundings.

Always helping you to take the perfect shot, the Lumia 925 has an array of features during and after your shot to improve your pictures. Smart Camera Mode takes a burst of images and review them at a later date - choose a single image or select a group for a flipbook style motion capture. Using face detection Change Faces lets you select particular expressions from a group of still people over a number of pictures to create the perfect moment that never was. Action Shot will take a series of images and turn them into one high quality image so you can see all of the action in one still moment. The Remove Moving Object feature is also great for stopping unwanted details from appearing in your pictures.

Nokia have managed to shed a fair bit of weight in desiging the Lumia 925, losing 41 grams to just 135 and going from 10.7mm thick to a tiny 8.5mm. All of this has been accomplished whilst retaining the 4.5 inch screen size and 1280 x 768 resolution. Screen protection has been enhanced with an upgrade to Gorilla Glass 2 and the AMOLED display promises richer colours than the old IPS panel. Nokia have also used a robust aluminium frame instead of polycarbonate.

Being lighter and trimmer doesn't mean that the 925 is missing any of the features that made the 920 such a powerhouse. Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport retain the enhancements added in WP8 to create a comprehensive and thoroughly integrated mapping experience for drivers. Offline maps are available straight out of the box avoiding the need for constant connections and in many cases downloading new maps.

Everything else that made the Lumia 920 great is still present in the 925 including the 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, optimised for use with Windows Phone 8 and 1 GB of RAM to multitask your way through the day as effectively as possible. Social media and multimedia are catered for,as always, with full WP8 integration for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Picasa, Flickr and more with NFC and DLNA technologies supporting instant sharing between compatible devices and other home media technology. Gamers have everything they need with support for DirectX 11 and the Xbox Live Hub to synchronise your Xbox Live account.

Wireless charging is supported via the Qi standard and through the use of the separate wireless charging cover accessory for use with all current Nokia approved wireless charging plates.
