The project witnessed indoor digitization with the transition of legacy DAS system to revolutionary LampSite technology. With this launch, Jakarta Airport becomes the first Airport in South Pacific to gain this technology.
Jakarta International Airport is one of South Pacific busiest airport, with average people traffic close to 60 million per year. Being a major hub for international travelers, good internet experience not only represents a comprehensive service level of the airport, but also showcases the level of infrastructure development in Indonesia. Rapid development, dense population and increasing global exposure require evolution to infrastructure that is quickly scalable and futuristic. With Huawei's digital indoor mobile broadband solutions “Small Cell (LampSite)”, Jakarta International Airport is now equipped with desired level of infrastructure and excellent user experience.
Huawei LampSite solution based on Ethernet cable and having end-to-end digital architecture has significantly reduced the cost of infrastructure build; shortened the build cycle to 1/3 of the traditional project; and increased the system capacity 3~4 times as compared with traditional solutions.

Since the deployment of LampSite at Jakarta Airport the user experience has improved dramatically, the average download speed of the wireless network increased by more than 16 times. After two months, the statistics show that Internet users increase in traffic of near to 300%, while there are more users who abandon 2G services and use 3G / 4G network. With this case-study, It is once again proved that digital solutions can effectively release the pressure from congestion, accelerate 2G to 3G migration & enhance the user experience.
