Xperia X Compact added to Sony’s AOSP program

Sony Mobile has added the Xperia X Compact to its Open Device program, which means that budding developers can use Sony’s guides to help build and flash AOSP (Android Open Source Project) Nougat and Marshmallow to the phone. Sony has provided the necessary binaries as well as detailed guides to get you started.

Sony Mobile remains one of the most open Android manufacturers, especially when it comes to inviting developers to help working on these type of custom projects. If you want to find our more hit the source link below – the guide to build AOSP Nougat can be found here whilst the guide for AOSP Marshmallow can be found here. Obviously, this information is only for those that know what they are doing – beginners need not apply. However, hopefully it means we may see some cracking custom ROMs on the horizon for the Xperia X Compact.
