VimpelCom develops its own backbone network

Operator VimpelCom (TM Beeline) has completed the next stage of expansion of the backbone transport network DWDM and IP / MPLS in the European part of Russia and Siberia. Expansion backbone transport network with the use of high-performance IP router equipment and DWDM, fiber optic network using a large European ring, which passes through Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh. Network capacity is increased to 220 Gbit / sec. To ensure the reliability of the network construction of 2 additional direct channel Moscow - Saratov. The total capacity on the route Moscow-Saratov increased up to 60 Gbps.

Extension of the Siberian segment of the marked completion of construction of fiber-optic link (FOL) data - UralSib. The total length of the line was about 2700 km, passing through the city Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk. The line also was constructed using DWDM equipment and high-performance IP routers. The total capacity of the line amounted to 20 Gbps. This segment of the fiber optic will allow the company to abandon a significant portion of rent and increase the volume of traffic from the Far East and Siberia.
