The new Mio A501 GPS PDA

This new Mio was announced a few days ago and will be available soon. It is called the Mio A501 and is positioned as a low/mid end device. It will be priced very competitively. It still has no support for HSDPA or 3G. It does come with a 2 mega pixel camera with auto focus, new MioMap navigation software and internal 1 GB memory. The device resembles the car navigation devices from the company. It is 20.9 mm thick and was designed for easy one hand use. It has a mini USB port, headphone jack and SD/MMC card slot. It supports SDIO cards but not SDHC cards. The cam UI reminds me abit of the UI of Sony Cyber-shots. More specs:

- TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor
- "GPS photographs" feature
- Windows Mobile

I like this more than the A701 which I find big and bulky. This A501 looks better in it's silver colors and looks more compact. The pics are from phonedaily and there are sample camera pics there. Here are tons of pics of MioMap app.
