NEW SONY MICROVAULT USB DRIVE CLICKS WITH USERS

LAS VEGAS(CES BOOTH 14200), Jan. 6, 2008 – Fidgeting during a meeting can now be a productive habit, thanks to Sony’s newest MicroVault USB flash drive, introduced here at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Named the Click, the new drive uses a clicking action like a retractable pen to extend the USB connector for insertion into computers, car stereos or other electronic devices that use a USB port for transfer of information.

The drive, which features capacities ranging from 1 GB to 16 GB, has two ways to retract the USB connector: click the top of the unit or, using the Auto-Retract feature, it will automatically close when removed from the USB port.

The Click device has no cap to lose and doesn’t expose the USB connector when not in use. The device alerts users when it’s recognized and in use by illuminating a color LED section.

The device uses the high-speed USB 2.0 platform and has been enhanced for Windows ReadyBoost™. Additionally, it comes pre-loaded with data compression software that will automatically compress files for up to three times the capacity of the unit. Compatible with both Windows® and Macintosh® operating systems, the device offers fast transfer of pictures, video, data and music.

The new MicroVault device is expected to be available in January, with pricing to be determined.
