NGN-network «Comstar UTS» national scale
NGN solution Nortel has successfully supported the work of the federal network of domestic and international context, the largest operator of integrated telecommunications services in Russia and CIS «Comstar-United TeleSystems», in the mode of commercial operation. Earlier, in August this year «Comstar-United TeleSystems», announced the receipt of the codes of choice operator and the beginning of multi-service telecommunications.
The project was implemented in record time: since the signing of the contract at the end of September 2007 the company launched the network in all regions of the Russian Federation and organized access points in all regional centers. Construction of the network was completed in late February 2008 and commercial service it launched in August 2008.
During that time it was installed seven intercity transit nodes in all federal districts of Russia and four international node-based platform Nortel CS 2000 - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Rostov-on-Don and Vladivostok, as well as 85 mediashlyuzov in all regional centers, which formed a single transport network.
One of the advantages of NGN architecture is its flexibility and scalability: in the future «Comstar UTS» can more quickly respond to the demands of the market and quickly implement comprehensive services for its clients by changing the structure of the service and tariff structure of a particular market situation in the region that is a clear competitive advantage.
