Symbian announces winners of the Star Developer Awards
LONDON, United Kingdom – Symbian Limited, developer and licensor of Symbian OS™, the market-leading open operating system for mobile phones, announced the winners of the Symbian Star Developer Awards. These awards recognise the most unique and innovative applications developed for mobile phones based on Symbian OS, as chosen by Forum Nokia, Motorola, NAVTEQ and Symbian Academy.

Sky Anytime on Mobile is an interactive TV application that extends Sky's digital TV experience to the mobile platform. As well as offering access to an on-demand news, entertainment and sports, Sky's Anytime application also provides an access point to Sky's range of live mobile TV services.
The Anytime application also allows customers to use their mobile phone to programme their Sky+ boxes remotely, place bets through SkyBet, and search their full 7-day electronic programme guide (EPG). Anytime on Mobile replicates the standard Sky EPG, allowing for an intuitive and fully accessible mobile content experience.

"GyPSii made a huge impact at the finals of the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge earlier this year with its innovative, Symbian-based PlaceMe application, so we had no hesitation in nominating it for a Symbian Star Developer Award."

ShakerRacer allows users of Symbian mobile phones to control a remote-controlled car using the acceleration sensor in their mobile phones. Users can manipulate the movements of the car by tilting the mobile phone in all directions.
