Becker got the bullet from girlfriend with text messages
Heartbroken Boris Becker has revealed to the German tabloid press that his 25-year-old girlfriend dumped him with five text messages less than a month ago. The 40-year-old three-time Wimbledon champion told Bild that the blow "trampled on my soul."
Becker got the bad news on October 31 from 25-year-old Sandy Meyer-Woelden, the daughter of his beloved late manager. The pair had announced their engagement last summer during a beach holiday.
"I suddenly got an SMS from Sandy... saying that this was it, that this was over," Becker told the newspaper. "To make sure how serious she was she sent me five others saying the same thing. I was completely surprised."
Becker, who playing professional poker as he runs his Swiss-based businesses and does occasional television commentary at Wimbledon, has had his romantic ups and downs.
He was divorced in 2001 by his wife Barbara Feltus, mother of his two sons, and later fathered a child in a London restaurant broom closet with a Russian model.
