Nokia Siemens Networks Showcases High Speed Wireless Broadband at WiMAX Forum 2008 in Rio de Janeiro
Internet communications are going mobile as end users want to have broadband in their pockets and the increased traffic creates a powerful thirst for connectivity, a need for fast and reliable “broadband everywhere”. This surge in the worldwide connectivity demand can be both a challenge and an opportunity for the key telecommunication market players and to deliver this ability and be profitable, communications service providers need to quickly determine the right balance in their portfolios that will allow them to meet this rising demand.
At the WiMAX Forum 2008 in Rio de Janeiro, Nokia Siemens Networks will share its vision of the future connected world and WiMAX’s potential role in the offerings of these players.
“The Brazilian market is booming and we expect 3G traffic to grow accordingly. With the first WiMAX licenses scheduled for auction in the first half of 2009, we think operators will have another important offering to add to their portfolio mix” says Frank Perthel, Head of WiMAX Business Development at Nokia Siemens Networks. “This technology enables our customers to have greater flexibility in profitably adapting their solutions to meet end user needs in their geographic areas”.
The end to end mobile WiMAX solution from Nokia Siemens Networks supports both fixed and mobile broadband use, extending broadband access and adding mobility to wireless broadband services are easier than ever. At the WiMAX Forum, Nokia Siemens Networks will demonstrate a commercially deployable WiMAX solution.
“These are very exciting days for the industry in the region, particularly in Brazil where the market is growing and very competitive.” states Armando Almeida, Nokia Siemens Networks Head for Latin America, “ The perspective of being able to bring our WiMAX solutions to our Brazilian customers is very welcome and the timing couldn’t be better. The market is demanding it”.
