Nortel - a leader in introducing technology GSM-R

The company Nortel has confirmed its leadership in the introduction of GSM technology for railways - GSM-Railway (GSM-R). In December, a number of major national railway operators have announced the introduction of high-speed lines to its GSM-R solutions from Nortel. So the Spanish national railway company ADIF chose Nortel for deployment, operation and maintenance of radio communications standard GSM-R on a new line of high-Barcelona-Figueres. A Turkish construction company Yapı Merkezi expressed a preference for Nortel as a supplier of telecommunications solutions for line transmission of data through networks of GSM-R and SDH in the project of high-speed railway line on the Polatli - Konya. In addition, Nortel issued a decision to All-IP Voice Core for rail operators based platform ATCA (Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture), which will be deployed DB-operators in Algeria and Lithuania.
