GPS Pioneer George Perros Joins ABI Research
ABI Research has announced the appointment of George Perros as Senior Analyst, Location Aware Services. As a member of ABI Research’s Telematics & Navigation research practice, George Perros focuses his research efforts on Location Based Services.
“We are extremely pleased that a veteran of the location industry such as George is joining ABI Research,” says practice director Dominique Bonte. “He has developed extensive knowledge about the GPS satellite system, and has been involved in many other aspects of the telematics and navigation fields. His deep experience and understanding of the industry will add great value for our clients.”
George came to ABI Research after seven years as principal of his own consulting firm, Applied Data Research, which provided consulting services in the areas of market strategies, product commercialization, venture development, and market research to the vehicle technology, logistics and transportation sectors. He is well-versed in the creation of detailed business development strategies, product commercialization programs, and comprehensive market and technology research and analysis.
Previously, George was the Program Manager at Datum Corporation for the GPS NAV payload satellite hardware subcontract, comprising the onboard frequency standards used to generate the precise Global Positioning System timing signals, for the currently-deployed GPS Block II satellite constellation. He has acquired extensive experience in wireless connectivity at Applied Data Research and prior to that as Director for Product Management and Business Development at FreightQuest, a commercial fleet telematics startup. Prior to FreightQuest, he was Manager of Mobile Information Systems at Cummins, Inc. and Program Manager for high-speed computing applications at Mercury Computer Systems.
He holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Salem State College in Massachusetts, and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.
