OpenPeak® Launches Revolutionary ProFrame™ Multimedia IP Phone for Business and Hospitality Market.
All-in-One Voice, Data & Multimedia Platform Delivers Rich Media Functions; Innovative System Provides Complete Information Center in a Touch-Screen Design for Office or Guest Room Applications
BOCA RATON, FL – OpenPeak Inc., a leading provider of VoIP multimedia telephony systems, announced the launch of the ProFrame™system, the first multimedia IP phone designed to function as an all-in-one voice, data and rich media information center for the business and hospitality markets. Developed as an everything-at-your-fingertips device, the ProFrame phone pairs a user-friendly touch-screen interface with the accessibility of rich media content into an all-in-one information command center.
OpenPeak unveiled the new enterprise system today at the Intel booth number 7153 at the 2009 International CES show in Las Vegas.
Powered by the Intel® Atom™ processor, the ProFrame phone operates on a high-performance, low-power platform capable of delivering advanced rich media applications and graphics combined with landline voice quality over IP, all in one affordable package.
“The ProFrame system brings simplicity, intuitive navigation and interactive, rich media content to the office environment,” said Dan Gittleman, CEO of OpenPeak. “The system is designed to complement the office PC – to combine the functions of the traditional office telephone with the interactive communications tools lacking in today’s office environments.”
The ProFrame phone merges common PC-based functions such as a contacts database, corporate directory, instant messaging, calendar, news and weather with traditional phone-based features like voicemail, call conferencing and transfer features. The system synchronizes easily with common office applications, to ensure contacts, calendars and other data are always up to date. The ProFrame management server allows for easy and dynamic delivery of firmware upgrades and future applications, as well as providing an easy to use back-end web administration function.”
“The office phone hasn’t really changed much in the past 20 years, even though users have come to expect a rich media experience and useful applications on their personal phones,” Gittleman said. “Our simple set-up and ease of use, powered by proprietary technology, also makes the ProFrame solution vastly more affordable than traditional systems.”
For the hospitality industry, the ProFrame platform functions as an in-room concierge, providing guest services and information that enhance the in-room guest experience. The device even includes charging and data ports to accommodate cell phones or to synch information to a web-enabled smartphone.
“The ProFrame phone is ideal for the hospitality industry. Not only can it provide guests with information about on-property amenities, but property managers can also add local content that is appropriate for their guests,” Gittleman said. “There are also numerous opportunities for down-stream revenue through partnerships with local attractions to provide content and information about their offerings directly to guests.”
“The performance, power efficiency and superior graphics capabilities of the Intel Atom processor has enabled OpenPeak to develop this robust application on a standard Intel® architecture,” said Rose Schooler, general manager, Embedded Performance Products Division, Intel. “The Intel Atom processor’s innovative capabilities help make the evolution of the business telephone possible.”
The ProFrame system features a sophisticated array microphone for noise suppression and premium level speakers for the highest quality hands-free telephone conversations. An optional fingerprint swipe sensor is available to provide biometric user identification and authentication.
