BenQ to launch all-in-one PCs, but no new handsets this year, says paper
BenQ will place the launch of all-in-one PCs as one of its major tasks in 2009 with plans to unveil its first nScreen-series models in February at the earliest, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.
Although BenQ will continue to cooperate with channel operators for the marketing of digital still cameras (DSCs), netbooks and LCD TVs, the company will not roll out new handsets this year, the paper indicated.
In other news, BenQ has appointed Danny Yao, currently vice president of BenQ Asia Pacific, to also serve as general manager of BenQ Taiwan. Previously, Hank Horng, president of BenQ China, also headed BenQ Taiwan. The new appointment will allow Horng to focus on efforts for expanding sales of BenQ-branded products in China, the company said.
