Chunghwa Telecom net profit drops in February

Chuunghwa Telecom (CHT) on March 10 reported self-estimated net profit of NT$3.65 billion (US$108 million) for February 2009, down from NT$4.32 billion.

CHT had about 1.15 million FTTx (fiber to the home/building) subscribers and 500,000 8Mbps ADSL subscribers at the end of February 2009, the company indicated.

Taiwan Mobile (TWM) and Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), the other two of the top three operators of mobile communication services in Taiwan, on March 10 also released their self-estimated financial figures for February.
