HTC and SKT jointly launching HTC Touch Diamond in South Korea, says paper

High Tech Computer (HTC) and SK Telecom (SKT) will jointly launch the HTC Touch Diamond smartphone in South Korea this month, although HTC is planning to launch its second-generation Touch Diamond2 in some markets in Europe and Asia in the second quarter of this year, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

HTC and SKT jointly launched the HTC Touch Dual smartphone in South Korea in July 2008. However, sales of the Touch Dual have reached only 20,000 units so far, 20% of the projected target, the paper noted.
