IDC: in 2009 the decline of sales in the market of mobile devices will be more than 8%
According to the forecasts of the analytical company IDC, in 2009 the market of mobile phones expects a significant decline: the volume of shipments decline by 8.3% compared to 2008 year. In the fourth quarter of 2008 the market of mobile phones in the fully realized world economic crisis: sales fell by 11.6%, for the first time in seven years, the holiday quarter sales failed to show annual growth. In mature markets such as Japan, USA and Western Europe, in 2009, experts expect a slowdown in sales of 24,6% - 12,4%. Here, the operators need to find the optimal strategy for moving equipment and discounts to attract more subscribers. In the countries of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) is expected to increase sales of mobile phones, but not in tens of percent, as previously, but only 0,3%. While in India the demand for mobile phones continues to grow, for example, in Russia cost the users of products in this segment will be substantially curtailed.

Interestingly, expert forecasts for 2010 again is optimistic: the common market of mobile devices to grow at 9.5%, and the segment of smartphones and communicators - at 22,2%.
