Taiwan market: Telecom carrier FET cuts 2009 capex
Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), one of the three largest mobile telecom carriers in Taiwan, has set aside a capital expenditure (capex) budget of NT$9.1 billion (US$264 million) for 2009, decreasing by 12.5% from 2008, according to the company.
The budget covers the expansion of fixed-line infrastructure by New Century InfoComm Tech (Sparq), FET's sister company, for FMC (fixed mobile convergence) integration of FET's mobile communication networks and Sparq fixed networks, FET pointed out.
