A1 brings Nokia Messaging to consumers in Austria

Vienna, Austria - Nokia and A1 today announced that A1 will begin offering the new Nokia Messaging consumer email service to its subscribers in Austria from May 2009. A1, part of mobilkom austria, is the first operator in Austria to introduce the service, which enables people to enjoy easy access to mobile email on their Nokia devices.

As a special offer, the service and associated data plan will be free of charge for a one month test period, after which the subscription price will be 5 euros/month.

"A1 aims to make mobile applications easily available for our 4.5 million customers. We have constantly proven our know-how and innovativeness with mobile email solutions. Now, we are delighted to be in the frontline in bringing Nokia Messaging to Austria. As the leading solution provider for mobile email in Austria we are again delighting our customers with an attractive offer," said Dr. Reinhard Zuba, Head of Marketing, mobilkom austria.

"With an extremely easy-to-use application that allows consumers to access multiple email accounts on the same device, and an affordable data plan, mobile email with Nokia Messaging has the potential to become as popular as text messaging", said Greig Williams, Managing Director, Nokia Alps South East Europe. "At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February we announced our strategy to make mobile multimedia available for everyone. Now, we take an important step in this direction through the roll-out of Nokia Messaging in Austria, in cooperation with mobilkom austria."

Nokia Messaging allows consumers to access email accounts from thousands of ISPs around the world on their Nokia devices. Besides A1.net, email accounts from the world's most popular webmail providers, Yahoo! Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, and many others can be easily mobilized. Each customer can access up to 10 personal email accounts on their Nokia S60-devices. Nokia Messaging removes the complicated steps and the need to remember technical data, making the service extremely easy to set up. Push email technology ensures that emails are sent to the mobile device as soon as they arrive at the mail server. Nokia Messaging also makes it simple to read, send, forward and reply to emails, download and read attachments, and attach files to emails directly on the Nokia device.

mobilkom austria subscribers can use Nokia Messaging from May 2009 onwards on the brand new Nokia E75, as well as the Nokia N96. For many other models the necessary software can be downloaded from https://email.nokia.com.
