Taiwan market: Samsung unveils Ultra Touch S8300 and S7350 handsets
Samsung Electronics has unveiled its Ultra Touch S8300 and S7350 handsets in the Taiwan market, with the availability of the two new handsets set for early May.
The company plans to introduce as many as eight new handsets into the local market in the second quarter, according to Jae Hyun Ryu, director of the mobile communications unit at Samsung Taiwan.
Samsung's share in the Taiwan handset market is estimated at 18-19% for March although local channels have yet to reveal their monthly sales figures for last month, Ryu said.
With Samsung expected to unveil its first Android-powered handsets in May or June, Samsung Taiwan will also introduce the Android phone into Taiwan in the second half of 2009, Ryu indicated.
