Clearwire and Cisco have formed an alliance to jointly promote mobile services in 4G
Clearwire Corporation and Cisco have formed an alliance to improve services CLEAR 4G Mobile WiMAX and their distribution throughout the United States. In accordance with the signed agreement, Clearwire Cisco gave the company the status of a national backbone infrastructure provider IP NGN, a Cisco announced plans to develop new mobile devices for the delivery of services CLEAR 4G Mobile WiMAX individual customers, small and home offices, as well as small and medium enterprises.

Study Cisco Visual Networking Index (VNI) Mobile Forecast for 2008-2013 ( «Index of visual development of network technologies: the future global mobile traffic, the years 2008-2013») revealed today that a single multifunctional phone older model generates more traffic than 30 cell phones with basic functionality and a mobile computer (laptop, notebook) creates more traffic than the conventional 450 cell phones. Cisco predicts that during the seven years from 2005 till 2012 the amount of data transmitted over the mobile networks will grow a thousand times, with a significant portion of total network traffic will be video. This is one of the main reasons why, along with Cisco Clearwire is building a 4G network for data transmission in the United States.
