Commission on International Trade United States rendered a decision in favor of Nokia
The company Nokia has announced that a judge of the International Trade in the U.S. (IMT) made the initial decision in favor of Nokia in the company InterDigital lawsuit against Nokia. In the charges filed by InterDigital alleges that Nokia has violated four patents InterDigital, relating to the UMTS (3G) standard. But the judge ruled that, in this case there are no violations of these alleged, four patents, and hence, Nokia does not fall under the violation of article 337 of Law on Tariffs.
The initial decision of the judges, issued Aug. 14, 2009, states that in accordance with the earlier decision in the United Kingdom, found a few InterDigital patents do not relate to the foundation UMTS standard. This decision will be sent to the plenary of the commission. Make a final decision in this case the Commission is planning around 14 December.
