MTS launched a 3G network in Barnaul

The operator MTS has announced the launch of commercial service of third-generation network in the capital of the Altai territory - Barnaul. The new 3G-network subscribers of MTS in Barnaul were able to use the mobile Internet at speeds comparable to broadband Internet access from fixed-line operators - up to 3.6 Mbits per second. To use the services in 3G networks, a subscriber may have the phone that supports standard 3G, connected service «GPRS» and in the range of the 3G network of MTS. Registration in the 3G network takes place automatically and free of charge.

Outgoing Video call to MTS subscribers of Altai Territory and other operators is 4 rubles per minute, and outgoing Video call on the number of MTS in other regions of Russia - 10 rubles per minute. This transfer of data and voice calls in the commission of 3G networks are charged according to the current tariff plan. Until September 30, 2009 subscribers some tariffs will be available free of charge packets of Internet traffic and video:

• Subscribers fare «MTS Connect» and «MTS Connect-2» is given 300 MB of internet traffic in the 3G network through an access point «internet.mts.ru» or «static.sib» and a package of 50 minutes per video.
• Customers connected to the corporate tariff plans can take advantage of the package 50 MB of Internet traffic, and the package 50 minutes per video in the 3G-network.
At the moment 3G network operated by ITT in 39 cities in all federal circles in Russia. By the end of 2009, ITT plans to build new and develop existing 3G network in more than 40 cities of Russia.
