The fact that the media Zune HD is based on NVIDIA Tegra processor is already known a long time. This information confirmed the company is Microsoft in one of the official podcasts. But representatives from NVIDIA did not hurry with the announcement of this fact. Until very recently, the Zune HD not included in the list of devices using chipsets NVIDIA.

Now that the media is already available for pre-and known to the official start date of sales, the company reported unexpectedly NVIDIA not only that the Zune HD is built on a platform of its development, but said even a specific type of processor. It was found that the chipset uses a series of Tegra APX. In fact, this is not a processor, as much as eight, who can work together or separately. In doing so, each responsible for certain types of tasks: one involved in the processing of audio, one HD-video, one graphic and two whole kernel ARM. This design allows to reduce power consumption, since in most cases there is no need for harnessing the power of the platform.
