Sales of Samsung "Star" of more than 5 million units
South Korean company Samsung Electronics announced that sales of its mobile phone with touchscreen Samsung Star this month surpassed the mark of 5 million units. "Star" of the company (model S5230), as noted by the manufacturer, became the fastest selling model of the company.
Having started its sales in Europe, Samsung Star reached there in the 1 million mark after only a month and a half after the expansion of sales in the markets of CIS countries, Southeast and Southwest Asia, East and Central Africa, China and Central America.
More than 700 thousand units of Samsung Star were sold in the month of May, and more than 900 thousand - in June. Monthly sales in July and August totaled 1.6 million and 1.8 million units, respectively. Based on current trends, the manufacturer expects that the cumulative total sales of 10 million units of this model will be made in the month of November this year.
