Sony Ericsson W995 wins the EISA award “Best European Music phone 2009-2010”
On 15th August 2009 the European Imaging and Sound Association announced the EISA Awards 2009-2010 winners and named the Sony Ericsson W995 as “Best European Music phone 2009-2010”
EISA is a unique association of 50 special interest magazines from 19 countries across Europe. Each year the EISA members meet and decide which products they have analyzed in the previous year deserve the coveted EISA award. Expert panels are set up to decide the winners. There are six panels, one covering each of the following areas:
Audio & Home Theater
Video
Photography
In-Car Electronics
Mobile Devices
Green
In selecting the winning products, EISA looks for advanced technology, desirable features, good design and ergonomics and value-for-money, while also taking in to account the latest requirements of the consumer marketplace.
This is what the EISA Jury said about the Sony Ericsson W995:
This device targets the multimedia enthusiasts by making it easy to access and playback audio and video media. The W995 is featuring a 2.6 inch display of 240x320 pixels resolution - enough to give the user a sufficient viewing experience. The phone includes include a music player, Walkman v4.0, with shake control, mini jack input for your favourite earphones and wireless Wi-Fi. Additional features include: a camera of 8.1 megapixels, a LED flash, a geo-tagging and an image stabilizer. With the new Media Go application, it’s incredibly easy to organize and transfer your music and movies to the W995’s internal 118MB memory or to M2 memory card (an 8GB is included). This phone even works as a DLNA server, so you can view photos or listen to music on compatible devices. Finally, there’s a neat kickstand for table use.
The W995 also features direct access to PlayNow™ arena from the main menu. PlayNow™ arena is Sony Ericsson’s one-stop content store, where the user can buy and download a full range of free and premium content including applications, games, ringtones, themes, wallpapers, movies, full-track DRM-free music and TrackID™ charts. A web-based version of PlayNow™ arena is also available.
