Using the car GPS-navigator saves time
Company Navteq has published studies on the results of daily use GPS-navigation. Studies were conducted on the use of navigators determine the ability to display road conditions in real time. Published information, unfortunately, give no idea of Russia and the CIS, since measurements were carried out in Germany, Britain and the United States.
In Germany, for the experiments were elected to the city of Dusseldorf and Munich, which has previously conducted studies on the orientation «astray» driver. It was found that in these cities the driver that uses GPS-navigator, on the road at 18% less time than unused. Last year, these 18% turn to 4 days. It was also found that when using the Navigator displays the road environment increases fuel efficiency, reduce harmful emissions by 21%.
For Britain, these data were, respectively 2.5 days and 20% of harmful emissions, and for the United States - 4 days and 21%. The project has monitored more than 2100 individual visits a total length of 20 000 km and lasted for more than 500 hours.
