Yota arrived in Belarus

Belarusian users of the global network can be happy - the company Yota, providing fast access to wireless internet technologies for Mobile WiMAX (4G), announced the start-up in Belarus. July 23, 2009 State Commission for Radio Frequencies under the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus made a decision on the allocation of the company «Yota Bel» (brand name Yota) 2,5-2,6 GHz band of radio frequencies for the operation of radio-electronic means of wireless broadband access in the territory of Belarus in the telecommunications network of general use . The construction and putting into operation of a network of wireless broadband access technologies for Mobile WiMAX (4G) will ИООО «Yota Bel», created in October 2008. In December the same year the company was issued a license of Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus to operate in the field of communications. «Yota Bel» part of the company's WiMAX Holding Ltd., Which belongs to the Russian company «Skartel» (brand name Yota).

Reported that the construction of a network in Belarus will start from the border with Poland, the city of Grodno. However, not all so easy - in some regions of the country allocated «Yota Bel» frequency while engaged in an analog television. With the transition to digital broadcasting will be gradually released. Grodno frequencies have already been released, so the pilot project is under way here. Running a network in Grodno scheduled for the second half of 2010, in parallel to start the construction of a network in Minsk. Over the next 2.5 years, the company plans to launch the network in all regional centers of Belarus (Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, Brest and Mogilev), a five-year plans provide coverage of most district centers of the country.

To deploy the network will be tested in Russia infrastructure, in particular, WiMAX-IEEE 802.16e standard equipment manufactured by Samsung. Customers in the territory of Russia and Belarus, using the same subscriber devices will have access to services and network services in one or in another country.
