Foxconn Group wins Acer TD-SCDMA smartphone orders, says paper

The Foxconn Group has beat Compal Communications to win orders for TD-SCDMA smartphones from Acer, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report. Acer previously outsourced the production of smartphones to Compal, Inventec Appliances and Quanta Computer.

Foxconn and Compal are now competing head to head for Maemo-based smartphone orders likely to be leased by Nokia soon, the paper noted.
