AT&T and Kore Telematics Announce Services Agreement for AT&T Control Centera

M2M Developers and Customers to Benefit with Choice of Wireless Service Delivery Solutions.

AT&T* announced the extension of an agreement with KORE Telematics, AT&T’s largest Value Added Reseller of machine-to-machine (M2M) network services, to support wireless data services through AT&T Control Center, powered by Jasper Wireless.

As a result of this agreement, KORE Telematics will manage customers who can benefit from access to the AT&T Control Center’s diagnostic tools as well as further streamline the recently introduced certification process. For M2M developers and customers, this extends the range of features and tools available to develop and deploy M2M wireless data applications. These features include connection diagnostic tools and processes that can help support rapid time to market. The AT&T Control Center can thus help customer efforts to lower their total costs of ownership for deploying and managing wireless connected devices.

“Through our collaboration with M2M technology providers such as KORE Telematics, AT&T is focused on leading the emergence and providing choices of new categories of devices and M2M applications for consumers and businesses,” said Chris Hill, vice president, mobility product management, AT&T Business Solutions. “Today’s announcement builds on our existing relationship with KORE Telematics in which we are working together to help companies bring non-stocked M2M devices onto the AT&T network through an optimized test lab certification process.”

“KORE, working closely with AT&T, continues to build its relationship and provide M2M application providers with the reliable network services and the widest choice of management tools required to run their business,” said Alex Brisbourne, president and chief operating officer, KORE Telematics. “As a pioneer in the M2M market, KORE understands the specialized needs of its customers and will continue to work with companies like AT&T to deliver solutions that accelerate the deployment of M2M applications.”

Since it began certifying non-stock devices in 2005, AT&T to date has certified more than 370 wireless hardware units for its network, enabling customers to access a range of new, innovative solutions to increase their operations’ efficiency and productivity. These solutions include wirelessly enabled rugged handsets and laptops, healthcare tracking tools, personal navigation units, and meter-reading, vending machine, and home security monitoring devices.

In 2009 AT&T announced an agreement with Jasper Wireless to offer exclusive U.S. access to AT&T Control Center, powered by Jasper. Jasper Wireless is a global leader in M2M, providing carriers with best-in-class business management, operations and support tools for consumer and enterprise markets.
