Sprint Ranks Highest among Large Business Users in Wireless Voice and Data Satisfaction-- Outperforming AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon in Study
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The results are in and conclusive: Sprint (NYSE: S) has earned top honors in the competitive business marketplace - winning the #1 ranking for overall satisfaction for wireless voice service providers and a matching #1 ranking in overall satisfaction for wireless data service providers in a survey of large business decision makers, according to a comprehensive study by an independent research firm and Mobile Enterprise Magazine (www.mobileenterprisemag.com).
The study indicated that Sprint ranked first in overall satisfaction in wireless voice and data and, in voice services, ranked first or second in nine of the 10 categories among large business customers.
The study (www.mobileenterprisemag.com/carriers), which is summarized in Mobile Enterprise Magazine's January/February 2010 issue, will be released in its entirety by Yankee Group later this month. According to the report, "Sprint and Verizon dominate voice service satisfaction (among large businesses)... Sprint again earns strong satisfaction scores (in data services), finishing first in overall satisfaction among large businesses."
Polling occurred in November 2009 among "respondents from both Yankee Group's Anywhere Enterprise panel of business decision makers and Mobile Enterprise Magazine's readership, and totaled 274 large business respondents (in companies with more than 500 employees), and 292 small and medium business respondents (in companies with 500 employees or fewer)."
"These results -- from this large base of customers -- is strong evidence of Sprint's growing leadership in the business marketplace," said Paget Alves, President - Sprint Business Markets Group (BMG). "Across the board, we've stepped up our efforts, and today we're seeing results -- care to businesses has improved and our portfolio of products is unmatched and refreshed frequently with game changing devices and new services. We are committed to offering one of the best networks today (3G) and the leading network of the future (4G) and we intend to remain the leader in converged solutions."
Progress in the business space by Sprint and proof of the company's commitment to business customers has come fast for Sprint. The company formed the Business Markets Group less than a year ago, putting considerable weight and resources behind building a unit devoted solely to business and government users. The BMG unit brought Sprint's business, government, and IP wireline teams into a distinct sales and support organization with a singular focus on business and government customers.
"Our commitment to Business made sense last year when we formed BMG and continues to make sense among business customers today," Alves said. "More than half of Sprint's new subscribers are business users, who have the most to gain from mobile data and converged wireless and wireline solutions. Our intent going forward remains simple and stark: to deliver to them the best the B2B marketplace can offer."
According to the Yankee Group/Mobile Enterprise Magazine study, "approximately 78 million U.S. wireless subscribers are business users, and this figure will grow to more than 90 million by 2013, according to Yankee Group. Business subscribers are particularly attractive to wireless carriers: compared to their general consumer counterparts, business users offer the allure of higher voice and data usage, along with the potential for higher monthly revenue and lower churn. The penetration of smartphones and wireless broadband connectivity on laptops remains low, representing a growth opportunity for wireless carriers."
