MediaTek declines to comment on reported 3G-chip orders

MediaTek has cited customer confidentiality and declined to comment on a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report that claims Motorola and LG Electronics (LGE) have adopted the IC designer's 3G chips for their new mid-range and entry-level handsets.

The report said new devices featuring MediaTek's solutions are manufactured by Arima Communications, and will start shipping at the end of 2010.
