TweetToGo Brings TweetPhoto To Verizon Wireless 3G Multimedia Phones
Brew® developers find an easier way to offer users social photo sharing functionality within their mobile apps.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Pelago, a real-world social networking company, today announced TweetToGo, the only photo and location Twitter app for Verizon 3G Multimedia handsets, has partnered with TweetPhoto to incorporate photo sharing support.
TweetToGo is the perfect app for Twitter power users who have been clamoring for the convenience and speed of a full-featured Twitter client on Verizon Wireless phones with cameras. Beyond the basic Tweet/Reply/DM/Follow features you’d expect, TweetToGo has dozens of convenience and power-user capabilities, such as saved searches, Trends, refresh, @Mentions, Switch user, Email link, and image preview. TweetToGo’s integration with TweetPhoto and Qualcomm Incorporated’s Brew® programming interfaces allow users to take photos, preview them, upload them to TweetPhoto, and post a Tweet with a link to the image hosted on TweetPhoto.com – all from inside the app. Additionally, TweetToGo takes advantage of the GPS chipset and can attach location coordinates to a Tweet if the user checks Add Location.
“We’re huge Twitter fans, and we love the intersection of the Twitter experience with rich media and location technology, so we were excited to partner with TweetPhoto to bring those together in TweetToGo. TweetPhoto is a rising star, and we have been delighted by their APIs, stability, responsiveness, and innovation” said Jeff Holden, CEO. “Brew has allowed us to build a scalable product in a single codebase that works on many different phones from multiple manufacturers and in varied form factors.”
“TweetToGo is the first app of its kind to set foot into Brew platform, giving users the ability to socially share photos on Twitter,” said Sean Callahan, CEO of TweetPhoto. “We are extremely pleased to have partnered with Pelago and how they utilized our mobile photo sharing platform to enrich the photo sharing experience for Verizon Wireless customers.”
“Verizon Wireless is excited to bring this new app to our customers using 3G Multimedia phones,” said Ed Ruth, director of business development and partner management at Verizon Wireless. “Adding new capabilities for popular social media apps is a great way to add value to these handsets.”
TweetToGo is developed for Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP™) operating system, and is available for download from Get It Now®/Media Center on more than 25 different Verizon Wireless handsets or from the Verizon Wireless’ online media store.
