Huawei,a leading telecom solutions provider, announced that it accepted two 2011 CDG Industry Achievement Awards from the CDMA Development Group (CDG) in recognition of its innovative approach and contributions to CDMA2000®. The company was recognized in the ‘Innovation in Network Technology’ and 'Innovation in Mobile Application' categories for its SingleRAN CDMA/LTE solution and customized CDMA2000 solution for high-speed network coverage.
"The CDG congratulates Huawei on winning 2011 Industry Achievement Awards for Innovations in Network Technology and Mobile Applications," said Perry LaForge,Executive Director of the CDMA Development Group. "Huawei is a leading enabler of multi-mode CDMA2000 and LTE network interoperability solutions, which is critical to ensure the harmonious co-existence of different radio access technologies for many years to come.
He Gang,President of the Global Wireless Solution Sales Department,Huawei, said "Huawei has been involved in the research and development of CDMA technology for many years and we are honored to be recognized as a supporter and significant player in the CDMA ecosystem."
Huawei’s winning SingleRAN CDMA/LTE solution enables the convergence of multi-access technology into one platform. The solution can simplify network architecture and sets a new benchmark for the industry. Since launching the world’s first CDMA/LTE Dual Mode commercial network in 2008,Huawei is the sole vendor to successfully provide end-to-end SingleRAN CDMA/LTE solutions.
Huawei was jointly awarded with China Telecom for its customized CDMA2000 solution for high-speed railway network coverage. The solution was commercially deployed by China Telecom for the high-speed railway between the cities of Shanghai and Hangzhou, and test results showed that end-users on a train travelling at 352Km/H,were able to access stable and smooth voice calls, efficient web browsing, video on demand and other multimedia services.
"The collaboration by Huawei and China Telecom on the high-speed rail project demonstrates the reliability of CDMA2000 voice and data technologies, critical for enabling access to business applications and increasing productivity for commuters," said the CDG’s LaForge.
As a key strategic partner of the CDG,Huawei is committed to supporting and promoting growth and development of the CDMA industry. The company is building optimal technologies and business platforms for CDMA players around the globe in the areas of roaming, service terminals, deployment and operational experience, and migration to LTE.
