Rent and Watch HD Movies from Android Market, First on the Motorola XOOM™
True tablet experience now even better with Android 3.1 update and enhanced video functionality, rolled out to Motorola XOOM users nationwide
Motorola Mobility, Inc. announced that the Motorola XOOM™ now offers the broad range of new features and capabilities enabled by Android™ 3.1. With this update, Motorola XOOM and Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi users are the first to be able to access the new movie rentals service from Android Market™ -- choosing from thousands of Hollywood titles like Little Fockers starting from $1.99, many in high definition quality that play full-screen on the Motorola XOOM’s widescreen display. The update also delivers improvements to app and web browsing performance, and gives users even more flexibility in how they can use their Motorola XOOM as part of their everyday lives.
“Motorola XOOM has been all about ‘firsts’ since the launch, and we are pleased to be the first to enable users to rent movies from Android Market and instantly watch them on their Motorola XOOM tablets,” said Bill Ogle, chief marketing officer, Motorola Mobility. “The improved user interface, better Flash video performance and many other benefits that are part of this software update are also part of how we are making the Motorola XOOM experience better than ever.”
Motorola XOOM users with the update can now:
Browse the web better than ever with improved Adobe® Flash® performance
Make your five homescreens even more individualized with widgets you can resize and arrange how you want
Use your Bluetooth® headset while video chatting over Google Talk™ with friends and family
Game on a whole new level, using your USB-connected game controller or joystick
Set up your Motorola XOOM workstation with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard
Experience improvements to the browser, Gallery, Calendar, Contacts, and Email apps to make them even more powerful than before
