Acer will return to profitability in the third quarter of 2011

Acer CEO JT Wang (JT Wang) at the last briefing on Thursday expressed his confidence in the fact that the manufacturer will return to profitability in the third quarter of this year. The first half of the year has been extremely unfortunate for the company, and two consecutive quarters of losses brought her, which was due to the impact that Apple has struck a tablet on the market of netbooks and low-cost laptops. However, even in summer it is expected that profits will grow, and the first autumn quarter Udet closed without loss. Currently the company is struggling with excess unsold laptops in the channel, which must be over the summer more efficient. Also, Mr. Wang has promised that Acer will recover from the fall to fourth place in the world in terms of selling computer equipment. In the fight with the Apple company intends to put an ultra-slim laptop that will compete with the MacBook Air since December 2011. In addition, the company has high hopes for sales of the tablets. Including the delayed exit Acer Iconia Tab A100 running Android 3.2, and also smartbuka with Android and based on the Nvidia Tegra platform 2. It should be noted, however, that senior management by Acer earlier repeatedly gave the short-term forecasts, which, however, then are not reflected in reality. In addition, since the advent of the market first iPad tablet in early 2010, the company consistently reported that the device or will not significantly affect the market or will soon be surpassed by competitors, including from Acer.
