Ericsson IPX Presents at MMA Forum New York
A Coca-Cola vending machine with mobile payments enabled by Ericsson IPX caused a stir at this year’s event, illustrating the power of operator billing for purchasing physical goods.
MMA Forum New York took place at the Waldorf Astoria on June 16-17 with Ericsson IPX invited by Coca-Cola to present a mobile payments enabled vending machine. The machine caused quite a buzz in the Mobile Experience Lab with attendees able to ‘buy’ a beverage with the cost of their purchase charged to their mobile phone bill and payments facilitated by IPX. The vending machine showed how mobile payments and carrier billing can be a useful tool for not just digital content, but real world physical goods and services as well. Attendees of the MMA Forum London event in October will have the opportunity to test a similar machine.
