Ericsson placed in Leaders quadrant in leading analyst firm’s LTE Network Infrastructure Magic Quadrant
End-to-end vendors positioned based on ability to execute and completeness of vision
Mobile broadband based on LTE technology provides consumers high speed wireless services with low latency
Ericsson today announced it has been positioned in the "Leaders" quadrant of Gartner’s recently published Magic Quadrant for LTE. Gartner, a leading worldwide IT research and advisory firm, evaluated end-to-end vendors of LTE equipment (radio and core) based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision in the LTE market.

"Ericsson is committed to ensuring that consumers and businesses benefit from reliable, high quality mobile broadband services, and we are proud to be recognized in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner’s ‘Magic Quadrant for LTE," said Thomas Noren, Director LTE at Ericsson. "We believe our position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reflects Ericsson’s leadership in LTE, both in regards to us driving the technology and our large ongoing deployments of LTE around the world."

To date, seven of the top 10 operators ranked by revenue 2010 have selected LTE vendor for their network. Ericsson has signed commercial contracts with six of these seven operators.

Ericsson is the prime driver of open standards and has had the most significant impact on the LTE specifications released to date. Ericsson expects to hold 25 percent of all essential patents for LTE, making it the largest patent holder in the industry. Ericsson is the industry leader in managed services managing networks that serve over 800 million subscribers globally.

In addition to the LTE Network Infrastructure Magic Quadrant, Ericsson is included in the "Leaders" quadrant of Softswitch Architecture and FTTH Gartner Magic Quadrants.
