Opera + Terra = Best surfing and content in Latin Americ

Opera Software announced its partnership with leading Hispanic portal Terra to offer premium content to the users of the Opera Mini mobile browser and the Opera desktop browser all over Latin America.

Terra’s content is now available via the Opera Mini and Opera desktop browser’s Speed Dial and bookmarks feature to users in Brazil. Soon, Speed Dial and bookmarks feature for Terra will also be available to users in other Latin American countries.

Opera users can now access the varied content Terra has to offer in the areas of breaking news, sports, entertainment, technology and more. The Terra website will be one of the pre-allocated sites on the Speed Dial start page, which is an easier, faster way of accessing favorite sites in the Opera browser. Speed Dial has been one of Opera’s most-loved features since it was introduced four years ago.

“Terra has been leading multiplatform content innovation in Latin America, and we think Opera’s popular browser and software make them a great partner to improve our users’ experience on any device,” said Matías Attwell, Social & Mobile Media Director, Terra.

Opera’s desktop browser has introduced — and continues to innovate — new ideas that make it faster and easier to use the Web. More than 55 million people use Opera on their desktops each month because it provides a superior web experience.

The Opera Mini browser, the world’s most used mobile browser, has more than 115 million active monthly users and two billion daily page views. The Opera Mini mobile browser works on more than 3,000 different mobile phone models, from basic feature phones to high-end smartphones.

Opera Mini’s unique technology compresses web content by up to 90 percent before sending it to the phone, resulting in faster page loading and lower browsing costs. It shares many features with Opera’s desktop browser, including tabbed browsing, password manager and Speed Dial.

“Opera’s goal is not only to provide the best Internet experience on any device, but also to provide the best localized content for our users,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “The Opera Mini and Opera desktop browsers bundled with Terra’s content is a perfect combination.”

To use the Terra-optimized Opera Mini browser, type m.opera.com into your device’s browser. For the desktop browser, go to www.opera.com to download.
