First impressions of Xperia™ ion
During the AT&T Developers Summit, taking place during the 2012 International CES in Las Vegas this week, several of the new phones that will be available through AT&T were announced. One of them is Xperia™ion, the first LTE smartphone from Sony* which will be available exclusively in the US for AT&T.
Xperia™ ion is an impressive smartphone, and I am really excited by it. With an amazing (and really huge) 4.6 inch HD display (with Mobile BRAVIA Engine) it takes HD content viewing, game playing and web navigation to another level. The images really are brilliant and clear, and the sound experience is also really good, so watching HD movies is just amazing. And Xperia™ ion is also PlayStation™ Certified, so you know playing games will also be a really good experience!
Another feature that impressed me from the Xperia™ ion is the 12 MP HD camera, that takes great photos, but not only that, it also takes photos really fast! With a new Fast Capture innovation that makes sure you never miss to capture any important moment in your life, the HD camera goes from standby mode to first shot in 1.5 seconds. And the pictures you take are crisp and brilliant. Also, both the front (1.3 MP) and the back- facing cameras deliver HD recording capabilities.
With HDMI and DNLA capabilities, Xperia™ ion provides easy connectivity across multiple screens, so you can view, share, access and enjoy your content through your smartphone, TV, laptop or tablet.
Some of the key features for Xperia™ ion are:
4.6 inch HD Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine, with HD resolution screen (1280 x 720), as well as rear (1080p) and front (720p) cameras for HD recording
1.5 GHz dual-core processor for fast browsing and content download, which can be stored on the internal 16GB flash storage.
12 MP rear camera with Sony Exmor R™ for mobile with fast/capture to go from standby to first shot in 1.5 seconds.
HD sharing through DLNA, HDMI and BRAVIA sync to quickly and easily stream content to other screens.
PlayStation™ Certified and access to entertainment services from Sony Entertainment Network, like Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited.
