MTS-Ukraine will speed data transmission over fiber is ten times

The mobile operator "MTS Ukraine" announced the successful completion of the testing technology, which allows to increase the capacity of its own DWDM-network of ten. Introduction of new technology is part of the preparation for the transition to next-generation networks.

MTS test result showed the possibility to increase the capacity DWDM-network with 800 Gbit / s to 8 Tb / s, that is almost 10 times. This means that the fiber-optic network MTS has a large reserve capacity for years to come, when the volume of information transmitted over fiber to grow several times. The biggest jump in the volume of data transferred in the MTS network is expected to transition to the new communications standards: UMTS, LTE.

Ten times the bandwidth fiber optic network, thanks to the so-called coherent technology - when one fiber simultaneously transmitted several light waves with the same length. The information is transmitted at speeds of 10, 40 and 100 Gb / s on each wavelength.
