Polaroid M7 tablet's screen may give the best small tablet a run for its money

Polaroid is taking another shot at the tablet market with the unveiling of two tablets at CES 2013. The smaller of the two, the 7-inch Polaroid M7, runs Android 4.1 and houses a dual-core processor. The M10, a 10-inch tablet, also runs Android 4.1 but houses a quad-core processor.

Given that this is Polaroid, a company that made its name in the camera market, it's unsurprising that the tablet features a slightly higher-quality front-facing camera than other top rated tablets with 2 megapixels, although a focus on camera quality does not seem to be a big selling point for the former instant photo coining company. The tablet comes with expandable 8GB of internal storage and will be available in spring 2013 for $129.

The Polaroid M7's features are standard for most popular 7-inch tablets but its high resolution makes it stand out in its price range. The M7 has an impressive screen when compared with the Google Nexus 7. Both tablets boast a 1,280x800-pixel IPS 216ppi display. Few specific details have been released about either Polaroid tablet model, so look to CNET for updates on the M7 and M10.
