Samsung 2013 Roadmap: Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Young, Galaxy X Cover 2

We’re just about a month away from Mobile World Congress in Barcelona where we’re expecting a bunch of news. What’s around the bend from Samsung? We recently stumbled upon a product portfolio that contains the firm’s first half 2013 products, including new devices such as theGalaxy Note 8.0, the Galaxy Pocket Plus, the Galaxy Young and the Galaxy X Cover 2.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 is scheduled to launch in March and packs an 8-inch 1280 x 800-pixel display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, support for S Note, S Memo and S Planner, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, a 4,600mAh battery and “E-Book” support. Support for 3G/2G frequency bands suggests Samsung is working to launch the device with carrier partners, too.
The Galaxy X Cover 2 is due out in February and sports a 4-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 5-megapixel camera, a VGA front-facing camera for video chat, 4GB of internal storage, a 1,700mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 and more. It’s also dustproof and waterproof. Maybe it’s the next Rugby Smart device for AT&T?
The ()new) Galaxy Young (not the one that launched in 2011) packs a 3-inch display with a WVGA resolution, a 1GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 3-megapixel camera, 1,300mAh battery, 4GB of internal storage, AGPS and dual-SIM support. It’s expected to launch in April.
Finally, the Galaxy Pocket Plus includes a 2.8-inch HVGA display, an 850MHz processor, a 2-megapixel camera, 4GB of internal storage, a 1,200mAh battery, GPS, Bluetooth and more. We’re guessing the dual-SIM version will be unveiled during MWC, as Samsung says it’s expected to launch in February.
We’ve included all of the slides from the 1H 2013 roadmap, which includes several that have already landed in the market in one form or another. Hopefully there are still a few more surprises in store.
