Confirmed: Sony Xperia Z to launch in India

After rumors of the Xperia Z launching in India, we finally have proof enough to say it’s all true!

Sony is famous for its ever-expanding portfolio of Android smartphones, most of which don’t make it to India, sadly. Notable amongst them are the current flagship-the Xperia T- and the Xperia V. As soon as the Xperia Z was unveiled at CES this year, mobile enthusiasts in India surely hoped they would get to lay their hands on this mean machine, but they were paralyzed at the same time with the fear that the Xperia Z might not make it at all to the country, just like the T & V.  Add to that, Sony Mobile NEVER mentioned the phone would launch in India anytime soon.

Fret not friends, NW brings you proof now that you will get to empty your pockets for this mighty 5-inched monster, if so you wish to. We came across a “Coming Soon” banner right on the Xperia Z product page that now appears on the Sony India website. No sign of the pricing though but you do get to see the specs that the India-bound device is to get. Expect to buy the device in 3 colors; Black, White & Purple. We hope to see the device up on the sites of Indian online retailers soon for pre-order. As soon as we do, you can vouch to see it first here!

UPDATE: It seems Sony is going to launch not just the Xperia Z but the Xperia ZL as well! Some more research revealed Sony has also listed the Xperia ZL as “Coming Soon” too on the Sony India website. Makes us think this one, how is it possible that the two variants launch in the same country? Look at the image below for confirmation:
