At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) is demonstrating a new value architecture enterprise framework and methodology that has been designed to ensure customers gain the maximum benefit from its accumulated knowledge, insight and wide array of proven solutions.
The framework will help to realize customers’ transformation requirements and strategies across the multiple layers of their businesses, including business processes, applications, IS/IT and networks.
The Ericsson Value Architecture is built on a combination of the company’s own expertise, telecommunications industry best practices and standards. The framework currently comprises 400 process elements, 450 KPIs, more than 200 identified pain points, as well as architectural assets, reference solutions, methods for re-use, supporting tools and documents.
The framework can be viewed from the perspectives of various stakeholders and end-to-end processes, thereby providing a holistic overview of a strategy’s implications for each layer of the business. For example, the framework can be used to identify whether a planned change in the application layer supports the business strategy – and what adjustments are required if it does not.
Paolo Colella, Vice President and Head of Consulting and Systems Integration at Ericsson, says: "Ultimately, this is a way to create solutions for our customer much faster and with enhanced quality. At the same time, it ensures that the valuable experience gained by our consultants and systems integrators in our annual 1,500 customer engagements can be reused more efficiently. It helps us to refine and innovate based on accumulated knowledge."
The objective behind the Ericsson Value Architecture is to share the company’s end-to-end competence with customers, and to industrialize and accelerate the provision of advanced solutions. These solutions are made available to both the telecom industry and other vertical industries – such as transport and utilities – that are increasingly benefitting from telecom expertise.
