The PowerUp Wireless charging speaker for Nokia is made in partnership with JBL to bring you high quality sound whilst also providing the means to charge your Nokia Lumia 820/920 wirelessly.
The minimalistic design of the JBL dock matches that of the new Lumia Windows Phone 8 range. A combination of Bluetooth (2.1 EDR) and NFC enable you to easily pair your handset and stream music.
The wireless (Qi) charging pad is situated on top of the JBL speaker. When hovering your handset above this, or placing it on top of, the speaker automatically pairs with the device and is then used for any audio playback.
Having a charging facility built into the speaker means that your battery is not drained from playing back music and also provides an extra charging point around the house.
The speaker weighs just over 1.5kg in total, meaning it's not too cumbersome to move from room to room, or take to a friend's house for a gathering. There are LED indicators included for charging, power and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as the usual hardware keys to control playback.
The PowerUp speaker includes a microUSB port (for software updates), a 3.5mm audio connector and an AC power port. Sub Band Coding SBC, Digital Signal Process DSP and apt™-X are also included.
