China Unicom Tests Huawei TranSight Solution to Improve MBB Network O&M Efficiency

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced it has provided its TranSight solution to leading China telecom operator China Unicom’s commercial MBB network in Shanghai to improve O&M efficiency. Huawei’s TranSight solution provides MBB IP backhaul visibility which will help China Unicom quickly locate IP routing faults in MBB networks. This trial in Shanghai will be a milestone for the commercial deployment of TranSight on a global scale.

As part of China Unicom’s commitment to providing the best MBB services and experience to its end users, they have selected the Huawei TransSight solution in order to quickly locate and address MBB IP backhaul faults.

China Unicom is currently conducting TranSight trials on its network in Shanghai. The results demonstrate TranSight’s commercial viability for providing MBB IP backhaul visibility, improving MBB O&M efficiency and optimizing IP backhaul transmission performance to ensure an optimal user experience.

TranSight displays IP backhaul topography and end-to-end IP routes for services, including transmission data rates and packet loss rates. The data provided by TranSight allows China Unicom to quickly locate the IP faults in as little as a few minutes to continually ensure reliable network performance.

TranSight is a part of Huawei’s SingleOSS@MBB suite of solutions. Adapting its MBB IP Backhaul visibility, operators can locate IP transmission problems, optimize IP transmission network and improve overall MBB network O&M efficiency and user experience.
